Transforming the way we think about health.
Health cannot be measured by a number on a scale or a size label on an article of clothing. Mental, emotional, physical, and social wellbeing are all important factors that play into an individual’s health and wellness.
A human-centered approach.
The “one-size-fits-all” approach that we see in many diet industry advertisements may sell more detox teas and workout apps, but it can’t take into account all of the factors that make your wellness experience unique, such as lifestyle, values, accessibility, gender identity, body shape/size, and professional/personal responsibilities. Jennifer takes the time to truly understand each individual to ensure that their goals are realistic and attainable.

Frequently Asked Questions

In the interest of being supportive of those who are battling or have battled eating disorders and/or body dysmorphia, as well as those who have been the target of anti-fat behavior in the fitness world, I do not require any of my clients to provide their weight, regularly weigh themselves or take body measurements. There are many reasons that people choose to work with a health and fitness professional, and it is not my job to dictate how YOU define health in your own body.
-
Absolutely not. As a Certified Health Coach, I can provide guidance on nutritional choices, but I will not create or prescribe any particular style of eating. I do NOT support diets that require the elimination of certain foods or food groups, unless it is deemed medically necessary for you by a medical provider.

It provides an opportunity for the client to show current postural stability, joint mobility, functional movement, balance, cardiorespiratory fitness, and muscular fitness. It also allows us to establish a baseline that will then be used to craft your unique personal training program.
-
A health coach partners with clients to empower them to adopt and sustain healthy lifestyle behaviors. There is a true partnership that occurs between the coach and the client. The health coach will not prescribe anything (i.e. medicines, diets, meal plans, workouts), nor will they dictate what the client should or should not do.
Think of your health coach as your accountability partner. You as the client will set the stage of where you want to go, and your coach will be there as your support along the journey.

Personal Training includes an exercise plan that has been created for an individual based on many factors (current level of athleticism, long-term goals, etc.). The client is typically the only person at the session, as it is designed specifically for them.
Group Fitness classes typically involve more than one person, and while each class plan is designed to be a well-rounded physical activity experience, they are not created with one individual's specific goals in mind.

I offer a free 30-minute informational call with all new and potential clients. This is a chance for us both to see if our client-coach relationship is a good fit, and it also gives the client a commitment-free opportunity to ask any questions about the process.
